Originally featured in HaGesher, American Hebrew Academy’s Monthly Newsletter

The American Hebrew Academy has partnered with the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization, the world’s largest and oldest Jewish youth group, and this summer hosted 135 students attending a transformational summer leadership experience at the Academy.  The Academy, being recognized as one of the greatest additions to the International Jewish Educational infrastructure and one of the most innovative Jewish educational projects of the past decade, welcomed BBYO attendees and their national administrative and educational staff with open arms to Greensboro.   Partnering with BBYO, an Organization that boasts a membership of 18,000 young people and 80 years of experience, means that EVERYBODY WINS!

Both organizations see themselves as leaders in the area of identity-building and leadership development for Jewish teens. Both have become havens for Jewish students from around the world.  And both have worked tirelessly to insure that every young person who passes through their doors leaves a stronger, more passionate, more committed Jew.

This year, BBYO held two sessions of its Chapter Leadership Training Conferences (CLTC) at the American Hebrew Academy.  “The Academy BBYO partnership has been a great success.  This relationship proves that working together doubles the resources we can provide to Jewish teens. The synergy that has been created between BBYO and AHA has proven to be a great success and plans are already being made to bring additional local and national BBYO programs to the Academy throughout the year as well as next summer” says Glenn Drew, Executive Director of the American Hebrew Academy.

The Academy proudly hosts students from around the world during the school year and has a curriculum that integrates a pluralistic Jewish Environment that nurtures the soul, while stimulating classes enhance the mind.  At the Academy, we are educating the future Jewish Leaders of the world and our partnership with BBYO expands the outreach we have and the fulfillment of our mission.
