Home Trimester Travel

At the American Hebrew Academy, we believe taht learning through travel in one of the most engaging and bonding experiences we can provide to our students and it is an integral part of our comprehensive curriculum.

Experiential Learning takes place during tiyullim (field trips) throughout the year for all students and during four major travel programs:

Freshmen The class travels to Charleston, South Carolina, a historic American city and birthplace of the American Reform Movement.

Sophomores Students travel to Washington, D.C., to visit the U.S. Holocaust Museum, the U.S. Capitol and other notable sites in Washington.
Juniors In an exclusive partnership with the Alexander Muss High School in Israel our students participate in a life changing adventure to the land of Israel for a trimester.  During this trip, students travel to historic sites, meet dignitaries, hike across the country (Yam le Yam) and participate in the GADNA Israeli Military Basic Training Program for all high school students.  The trimester in Israel program is requisite course for all studetns entering the Academy prior to 12th grade.
Seniors* Students relive the horrors of the Holocaust while on the March of the living Program, visiting Poland for Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) and then experiencing the joy of rebirth of the Jewish people and the State of Israel as they return to Israel to celebrate Yom Haatzmaut (Israel Independence Day) to culminate their two week experience.
