At the American Hebrew Academy, we believe taht learning through travel
in one of the most engaging and bonding experiences we can provide to our
students and it is an integral part of our comprehensive curriculum.
Experiential Learning takes place during tiyullim (field trips) throughout the year for all students and during four major travel programs:
Freshmen
The class travels to Charleston, South Carolina, a historic
American city and birthplace of the American Reform Movement.
Sophomores
Students travel to Washington, D.C., to visit the U.S. Holocaust
Museum, the U.S. Capitol and other notable sites in Washington.
Juniors
In an exclusive partnership with the Alexander Muss High School in
Israel our students participate in a life changing adventure to the
land of Israel for a trimester. During this trip, students
travel to historic sites, meet dignitaries, hike across the country
(Yam le Yam) and participate in the GADNA Israeli Military Basic
Training Program for all high school students. The trimester in
Israel program is requisite course for all studetns entering the
Academy prior to 12th grade.
Seniors*
Students relive the horrors of the Holocaust while on the March of
the living Program, visiting Poland for Yom HaShoah (Holocaust
Remembrance Day) and then experiencing the joy of rebirth of the
Jewish people and the State of Israel as they return to Israel to
celebrate Yom Haatzmaut (Israel Independence Day) to culminate their
two week experience.

Seniors and Juniors at their option.
