Gary M. Grandon, Principal
Asked what attracted him to the American Hebrew Academy, Gary
Grandon answers like most of the school's leaders: "I look forward
to helping build a new school, from its technical infrastructure,
hands-on technology implementation, and teaching of students."
Over the course of his career, Dr. Grandon has taught high school
physics, served as the Associate Executive Director for Technical
Services at the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research, Associate
Director of the University of South Florida's Computing Center,
Director of Academic Computing at UNC-Greensboro, and eventually was
named Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology at UNC-Greensboro.
"I've always enjoyed science and working with teenagers. These
interests converged for me in the study of Educational Psychology; I
earned a Ph.D. in evaluation and measurement (research methods and
statistical computing)."
"My interests all come together at the Academy, where I have the
opportunity to create the most technologically advanced learning
environment yet to be created."
